Jesus is Lord! Tomorrow is Ascension Day, a day to remember that Jesus has taken is place on the throne.  As a church we will observe it together on Sunday. As well, we have the opportunity to join in churches who are live streaming Ascension Day worship services on May 13.

As was mentioned in the church bulletin this past Sunday, the reach of the internet is enabling us to join in with the “Thy Kingdom Come” Global Prayer Event. The local Anglican Church here in central Etobicoke, Christ the King Anglican. has invited us to join them in this initiative of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The prayer event runs from Ascension to Pentecost (May 13-23). The focus is asking God for people to come to know Jesus. I plan to pray every day. Will you join me?  You can find out more, including downloadable resources including the daily prayer guide and journal, on the  Thy Kingdom Come website. There is also a short informative explanatory video for you to watch.

Separate, but related, is the unBELIEVEABLE? 2021 CONFERENCE – “How to Tell the Greatest Story Ever Told,” with NT Wright, Tom Holland, Clare Williams, Josh and Sean McDowell, and others.  earn how to tell the story of Jesus to today’s sceptical society in new and compelling ways.  This  6-hour online training will live stream May 15th, 2021 and will also be available up to 72 hours afterwards, for your convenience. This is a pay-what-you-can event. I will hold a follow up discussion for all who would like to participate, at 7:30pm on May 20.

As I have said before, I continue to be very excited to see what God is doing by means of the internet during this pandemic.  These two UK events are just two examples of how we can join. from the comfort of our homes, in what God is doing in the world. Please join me and others as we learn about, and pray about, sharing the name and love of Jesus!
