Every April, community groups, families, individuals and businesses in Toronto are encouraged to spend some time cleaning up litter in a local park, beach, ravine or other natural spaces. In 2026 there were 700 (including more than 400 in City parks) self-directed park clean-ups. Including ours!
Again for the 7th year, Fellowship Church is organizing a neighborhood clean-up event of the Elmcrest Creek area (Bloordale Park North, where the creek runs under Burnhamthorpe Road). This is a great way to get to work together as part of the Earth Day Clean Toronto Together event. Join us from 12.00 noon – 1.00 pm on Sunday, April 26th. Garbage bags and vinyl gloves will be provided (or bring your own); a limited number of garbage pickers will also be available. Please wear proper footwear. We will gather behind the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot at 666 Burnhamthorpe Rd. at the northeast entrance to the park.
As you can see by this recent photo, the creek needs our help!
