Special Offering for Sunday September 6th, 2026.

This week’s special offering is for St. James Food Basket. Each Wednesday, volunteers set up the St. James Food Basket in the St. James United Church Fellowship Hall. St. James Food Bank supports approximately 1,650-1,700 registered clients. To meet these needs, St. James Food Bank has transitioned to a hybrid delivery of service:

The Essentials: Every family receives a base share of staple items, dairy, and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Extra Help for Bigger Households: Families of four get extra protein, and families of eight or more receive extra food allotments.

Monthly Extras: Diapers, hygiene products, pet food and miscellaneous items are set on a choice table for people to pick out items themselves.

Working with the Daily Bread Food Bank, Second Harvest and local suppliers, they provide perishable and non-perishable food items and sundries to individuals and families in need. They serve senior citizens, new Canadians, individuals receiving social assistance, the homeless and families that are simply down on their luck. For more information, please visit their website.
